General Terms and Conditions (GTC)

The General Terms and Conditions of Nationalpark-Zentrum KÖNIGSSTUHL Sassnitz gGmbH
As at 26 June 2026

§1 Scope of Application

  1. For contracts with Nationalpark-Zentrum KÖNIGSSTUHL Sassnitz gemeinnützige GmbH, the General Terms and Conditions (hereinafter ‘GTC’) in the version valid at the time the contract is concluded shall apply exclusively. We expressly reserve the right to amend the GTC. Any conflicting provisions are hereby rejected. Provisions other than those contained herein shall only take effect with our express written consent.
  2. Verbal side agreements must be in writing.
  3. Any changes to agreements, delivery dates or deadlines – whether agreed as binding or non-binding – require written confirmation from Nationalpark-Zentrum KÖNIGSSTUHL Sassnitz gemeinnützige GmbH.
  4. Our separate terms and conditions for electronic mail set out in §8 apply to all written confirmations sent by email.

 

§2 Offers and Conclusion of Contract
 

  1. Tickets for the National Park Centre’s daily standard programmes are sold exclusively on site, through contracted sales partners or via the centre’s own online ticket shop at www.koenigsstuhl.com. Combined tickets, which are offered in collaboration with our partners Verkehrsgesellschaft Vorpommern-Rügen mbH and Touristik Lohme GmbH, can be purchased on the participating buses, at the Hagen main car park and via our in-house online ticket shop at www.koenigsstuhl.com.  When purchasing a combined bus ticket via the shop at www.koenigsstuhl.com, the General Terms and Conditions of Verkehrsgesellschaft Vorpommern-Rügen mbH (VVR) apply in addition to those of the KÖNIGSSTUHL National Park Centre: The VVR’s General Conditions of Carriage can be found at https://www.vvr-bus.de/vvr/tarifbestimmungen/, and the fare regulations at https://www.vvr-bus.de/vvr/befoerderungsbedingungen.
  2. Bookings for exclusive (group) programmes can be made by telephone, in writing, via the online booking system for sales partners, or by email directly to the KÖNIGSSTUHL National Park Centre. Confirmation will be sent by the National Park Centre by email or fax. The booking becomes legally binding upon receipt of this confirmation. If the National Park Centre has made an offer, the booking becomes legally binding upon written acceptance of that offer.
  3. For bookings made through third parties, e.g. tour operators, the third party becomes the contractual partner. In such cases, invoicing is carried out on a monthly basis.
  4. The services to be provided by the KÖNIGSSTUHL National Park Centre are determined exclusively by the written agreements or the details provided in the registration form.
  5. Activities in the Jasmund National Park generally require greater physical exertion than walks on flat terrain. It is therefore the responsibility of participants to ascertain, or to have it ascertained, whether they are physically fit enough to cope with the demands of an activity in the National Park. We are, of course, available to answer any queries.

 

§3 Withdrawal and Cancellations
 

The customer may withdraw from a booked event under certain conditions.

  1. Cancellation is not possible for date-specific tickets purchased via our in-house online ticket shop at www.koenigsstuhl.com. There is no right of withdrawal for contracts for the provision of services in connection with leisure activities if the contract specifies a specific date or period for the provision of the service (Section 312g(2)(9) of the German Civil Code (BGB)). This applies in particular to all date-specific admission tickets, events, guided tours and similar offers from the KÖNIGSSTUHL National Park Centre booked via the online ticket shop. Additional services (e.g. combined tickets, material costs or other upsells) which are offered exclusively in connection with a booked event and can only be used on the respective day of the event also constitute ancillary services. There is no right of withdrawal for these either.
  2. Customers have the option to rebook their selected visit date online to a different date. The customer will receive the relevant link in their confirmation email. It is not possible to rebook the combined shuttle ticket.
  3. For tickets purchased through a contractual partner, the general terms and conditions of the respective partner apply. Requests for refunds must therefore be addressed directly to the contractual partner.
  4. For group bookings and booked programmes, the visit may be cancelled free of charge up to one week before the booked date. Cancellation must be made in writing. If cancellation is made later than this, or if the group fails to turn up without prior notice, the KÖNIGSSTUHL National Park Centre is entitled to the following cancellation fees: 90% of the agreed total price.

 

A visit that has already commenced with a ticket validated at the National Park Centre, as well as in the case of combined tickets with the partners Verkehrsgesellschaft Vorpommern-Rügen and Touristik Lohme GmbH, does not entitle the holder to a refund of the admission price.

If, after the contract has been concluded, it transpires that the event organised by the customer/ organiser is concluded threatens to jeopardise the smooth running of business, the safety or the reputation of the KÖNIGSSTUHL National Park Centre, the KÖNIGSSTUHL National Park Centre may withdraw from the contract. This applies in particular if the KÖNIGSSTUHL National Park Centre was not sufficiently informed by the customer/organiser of the true purpose of the event at the time the contract was concluded, as well as in cases of force majeure.

 

§4 Admission fees and charges
 

Our current schedule of fees applies to our admission prices and charges for the use of the seminar room, wedding ceremonies, exceptions and exemptions.

 

§5 Liability and compensation
 

  1. The Nationalpark-Zentrum KÖNIGSSTUHL Sassnitz gemeinnützige GmbH shall not be liable for disruptions caused by force majeure, in particular by adverse weather conditions which render it impossible to hold an event or maintain a service (e.g. gales, thunderstorms, heavy rain, flooding, etc.).
  2. Liability for damages is limited to cases of wilful misconduct and gross negligence, provided that the damages do not relate to personal injury to the customer or fundamental contractual obligations.
  3. Participants in an event or our service, such as a guided tour, are obliged to assess their own health conditions and limitations.
  4. The guide is entitled at any time to terminate the guided tour should participants not be wearing clothing suitable for walking or the weather, or should they have health restrictions. The KÖNIGSSTUHL National Park Centre accepts no liability for damage resulting from unsuitable clothing or health restrictions.
  5. The designation of a national park entails limited obligations regarding public safety, which applies, for example, to hikes.
  6. Guided tours for children will only take place if a supervisor is present to accompany the children. Responsibility for the group in question lies with this supervisor.

 

§6 Third-party services
 

Where third-party services are arranged, their terms and conditions shall apply. The National Park Centre KÖNIGSSTUHL Sassnitz gemeinnützige GmbH shall not be liable for any disruption to services in connection with third-party services which are merely arranged and which are specified as such in the service description.

 

§7 Right of retention, set-off and assignment

  1. Rights of retention against us are excluded to the extent permitted by law.
  2. The customer is not entitled to set off their own claims against our claims for payment, unless the customer’s claims are undisputed or have been established by a final and binding court decision.
  3. The assignment of rights arising from a contractual relationship with the KÖNIGSSTUHL National Park Centre requires the prior written consent of the KÖNIGSSTUHL National Park Centre to be valid.

 

§8 Communications by electronic mail (email)
 

Where the contracting parties communicate by email, they acknowledge the unrestricted validity of declarations of intent transmitted in this manner in accordance with the following provisions.

The usual details must not be omitted from the email or circumvented by anonymisation; that is to say, it must contain the sender’s name at the end of the message. Unless proven otherwise, an email received in accordance with this provision shall be deemed to have originated from the other party. Communications must be written in German.

 

§9 Events, exhibitions and lectures organised by external organisers on the premises of the National Park Centre

  1. Any charges payable to third parties in connection with the event, in particular GEMA fees, entertainment tax, foreigner’s tax, etc., must be paid by the customer directly to the creditor.
  2. Artists’ social security contributions shall be paid in accordance with statutory provisions.
  3. As a general rule, the organiser may not bring their own food or drink onto the premises.
  4. The customer must obtain any official permits required for an event in good time and at their own expense. They are responsible for complying with public law requirements and other regulations.
  5. Where the Nationalpark-Zentrum KÖNIGSSTUHL Sassnitz gemeinnützige GmbH procures technical or other equipment on behalf of the customer, it acts in the customer’s name and on their behalf; the customer is liable for the careful handling and proper return of the equipment and indemnifies Nationalpark-Zentrum KÖNIGSSTUHL Sassnitz gemeinnützige GmbH against all claims by third parties arising from the provision of such equipment.

 

§10 Payments and Price Changes (Events)
 

  1. Payment of the event fee shall be made by bank transfer to the account held with HypoVereinsbank Rostock, IBAN DE87200300000638612218, BIC HYVEDEMM300, or by cash payment.
  2. The Nationalpark-Zentrum KÖNIGSSTUHL Sassnitz gGmbH reserves the right to charge for any unforeseen additional costs incurred in connection with the event. The customer shall be notified of any such additional costs without delay, but no later than 14 days before the event.

 

§11 Invoices and Default
 

The agreed price is due 14 days after receipt of the invoice. After this period, the customer shall automatically be in default. Subject to the assertion of further rights, we shall charge default interest at a rate of 4% above the relevant discount rate of the Deutsche Bundesbank.

 

§12 Data Protection and Confidentiality
 

All personal data collected from customers shall be treated confidentially. The data necessary for the processing of transactions shall be stored and, to the extent necessary for the fulfilment of the order, may be passed on to affiliated companies and delivery agents or to banks for settlement purposes. The GDPR applies.

 

§13 Governing Law
 

The contracting parties agree that German law shall apply to all legal relationships arising from this contractual relationship, both present and future following the performance of the contract, to the exclusion of the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.

 

§14 Jurisdiction and Place of Performance
 

  1. The place of jurisdiction is Stralsund.
  2. The place of performance for both parties is the location of the KÖNIGSSTUHL National Park Centre.

 

§15 Visitors’ Regulations
 

The Visitors’ Regulations form an integral part of these General Terms and Conditions.

 

§16 Severability clause
 

Should any individual provisions of these General Terms and Conditions be or become void, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
