National Park Centre KÖNIGSSTUHL Declared love for nature

The KÖNIGSSTUHL National Park Centre is more than just a visitor centre - it is the non-profit heart of environmental education and sustainable nature education in the Jasmund National Park. On behalf of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and under the sponsorship of WWF Germany and the town of Sassnitz, we work in a non-profit organisation to not only show nature, but to touch it.

Our mission is to make complex ecological relationships understandable, promote responsibility for nature and sensitise people to the importance of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. In doing so, we combine well-founded content with an emotional appeal - for guests of all ages and backgrounds.

Our mission

"Let nature be nature " - that is the guiding principle of Jasmund National Park. As a centre, we bring this idea to the world: through experience exhibitions, personal encounters, guided tours and media communication formats. The aim is to promote a deep understanding of nature and provide impetus for action for a sustainable future.

Our mission includes

the preservation and communication of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Ancient Beech Forests",

promoting a respectful attitude towards nature,

enabling personal "aha" moments and encounters with nature,

developing forward-looking educational formats for children, young people and adults.

In our work, we always strive to be scientifically sound, educationally valuable and emotionally moving - so that experiences of nature create connection and connection creates responsibility.
