Accessible travel to the Chalk Coast on Rügen

The Königsstuhl is situated in the heart of the Jasmund National Park and right on the chalk coast. This is the only accessible way to enjoy the view of Rügen’s chalk coast.
To protect the natural environment, direct access by car is generally not permitted. Visitors with a blue EU parking permit can use designated parking areas in the immediate vicinity of the National Park Centre.

Many visitors reach us easily by bus:

  • from the Hagen main car park on the low-floor buses of bus route 19
  • from Sassnitz on bus route 23 operated by Verkehrsgesellschaft Vorpommern-Rügen
  • Those wishing to actively explore the National Park can also walk from the Hagen car park. The route follows forest paths through the beech woodland directly to the Königsstuhl and is perfectly suitable for pushchairs. To help you better assess the conditions, we have provided accessibility information for the walking route.
